Global Student Forum
The Global Student Forum (GSF) is the worldwide umbrella organisation of the student movement, representing over 202 national student unions from 137 countries and seven regional student platforms. Through this broad membership, GSF amplifies the voices of over 200 million students in global policy debates.
GSF works to defend and advance students’ rights, promote inclusive and democratic education systems, and ensure that student perspectives shape decision-making in multilateral spaces. Its advocacy spans a wide range of thematic areas – from access to quality education and academic freedom, to climate justice, human rights, and the digital transformation of education – always grounded in the principle that education is a public good and a human right.
As an organising partner of the Education and Academia Stakeholder Group, GSF brings the perspectives of students from diverse backgrounds into UN policy processes, including the High-Level Political Forum and other sustainable development and human rights mechanisms. The organisation coordinates joint advocacy, mobilises student-led research, and fosters solidarity across borders, working to ensure that students are recognised as equal stakeholders in shaping the future of education worldwide.
