Global Campaign for Education
The Global Campaign for Education (GCE) is a civil society movement working to ensure the right to free, inclusive, quality education for all, as enshrined in international human rights frameworks. Bringing together national coalitions, regional networks, and international organisations from over 100 countries, GCE advocates for strong public education systems, equitable financing, and policies that address barriers faced by marginalised learners.
GCE engages in evidence-based advocacy at global, regional, and national levels, pressing governments and international institutions to fulfil their obligations to deliver education as a public good. Its work addresses a broad spectrum of issues, including early childhood care, gender equality in education, education in emergencies, and adult learning, always through the lens of social justice and human rights.
As an organising partner of the Education and Academia Stakeholder Group, GCE contributes its expertise, network, and advocacy experience to strengthen coordinated civil society engagement in UN processes. This includes the High-Level Political Forum and other spaces where education policy is shaped, ensuring that the voices of grassroots movements and communities are heard at the highest levels.
