Making SDG 4 the Cornerstone of the Future

We organise to monitor and review the Sustainable
Development Goals as an official UN stakeholder group.

Education and Academia at the United Nations

The Education and Academia Stakeholder Group (EASG) unites civil society and academic networks committed to the human right to education. As an official UN stakeholder group, we self-organise to monitor, review, and influence the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals—especially SDG 4, and other cross cutting issues relevant to SDG 4.

Through research-driven advocacy, policy engagement, and coordinated action at all levels, we amplify the voices of education actors in global processes. Our work ensures that inclusive, quality, and free education remains central to the UN’s vision for a just and sustainable future.

Advancing Education for People and Planet

Policy Advocacy & UN Engagement

We work to ensure education is recognized as a human right and strategic priority in global policymaking. Through direct engagement with UN bodies and intergovernmental processes, EASG brings academic expertise and civil society voices to the forefront of decisions that shape the future of education.

Knowledge Sharing & Capacity Building

Our network facilitates the exchange of evidence-based research, best practices, and tools for policy implementation. We support our members and partners in developing capacities to advance SDG 4 and education-related goals across other parts of the 2030 Agenda.

Coalition Building & Stakeholder Mobilization

EASG brings together a broad range of actors—from academic institutions and student organizations to education advocates and civil society alliances. We foster collaboration and collective advocacy to amplify our shared commitment to inclusive, equitable, and quality education for all.
